Burney Falls

Sun, April 13, 2014 After a great day at church, my roommates Pam & Bill w/their friend Joey, invited me to go on a Sunday drive to Burney Falls. The waterfall was amazing!!

Raynis Baptism, Rose's Wedding in my new ward

Sat, Apr. 12 The Sister missionary's invited me to a baptism & a wedding they put together. Such a spiritual day, it really touched me to see a 12 year old lil girl make a big decision like this. Her family were all non members except her older sister. We sang "When I Am Baptized" and the lil girl Rayni bore her testimony.

Elder Johnson is from Orem, UT. a block away from my brother & sister & is serving the Redding, CA area.

My Gbaby Ky Loves Jesus

My lil 3 yr old grandson found a pic of Jesus on a card that the missionaries left @my house & says, "who is this dranma?" I said, "thats a picture of Jesus, he died on the cross for us & thats why we celebrate Easter." He said, "whats a cross?" I said, "its like gmas but only bigger, made with wood." 

Later in the car, I noticed he held onto the picture of Jesus which really touched my heart.

Ky: "Dranma, why did Jesus die on the cross?" 

me: "so we can be forgiven of our sins"

Lindsay: "dranma, tell him what sins are"

me: ...thinking really hard & wondering what have I started. "when we are mean to others, that is a sin. We should always be nice to everybody. Jesus died on the cross so we could be forgiven"

Lindsay: "keep goin mom"

me: "Jesus is happy when we are nice." 

They both seemed satisfied with what I said but that was difficult and reminded me that I need to study. Today I really wish I had story books about Jesus to read to my grandson, he's at a fun age where he always has lots of questions. I love him so much!

My Move to Redding

February 2014- I arrived in Redding to be closer to my kids, love the location of my new house (a grocery store in walking distance). I have really cool room mates, Jake- hes a comedian, his 2 daughters Brianna & Marti, Bill & Pam and their 2 cats Ono & Lilly.

My grandson & daughters visit me often, Im very thankful for the time I get to spend with them. Can't wait for my Ashley to get home from Dubai.

I planted 4 Big Boy tomatoes, so far so good. Still tryin to figure out the soil here in Redding, it holds water for days.

I planted zucchini squash, its growing really fast, it doubled in size in just 1 week or maybe 2 (I forget lol)

and I planted baby cucumbers, if they produce enough, I want to make my kids some pickles
(my gmas recipe) I want to plant more...maybe some peppers, melons, green beans, stuff for salad.

I like it here alot! :)
